Training focus and venues
Race vs healthier goals, primary vs cross-train sports, and indoor/outdoor venues.
Training focus tells the planner what you are optimizing for: race vs health, which sports matter most, and where you actually train.
Goal type
- Race / event — season shaped around A/B/C races and race-specific work.
- Get healthier — sustainable fitness without a single peak race (you can still add events later).
Primary and cross-train sports
Pick one to three primary sports. Cross-train sports get a smaller share of endurance volume so the plan stays specific without becoming monotone. Strength and mobility remain available even when you narrow endurance sports.
Venues
Bike (indoor / outdoor / both), run (treadmill / outdoor / both), and swim (pool / open water / both) change where quality work is placed. When you allow both, Brick often prefers controlled venues for key intervals.
Where to edit
Set focus in onboarding, then update anytime from the Plan page training-focus card or related profile settings. Big focus changes can warrant a replan proposal.
