Getting started

Sign up and onboarding

From consent to your first plan — every onboarding step explained.

After you create an account, Brick walks you through a short onboarding flow. Each step collects what the coach needs to build an honest first plan — not a generic template.

Before you start

  • You must be 16 or older.
  • You will accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.
  • Health-data consent is optional but required if you want wellness signals (HRV, sleep, resting heart rate) to drive readiness and adaptations. See Health data.

The onboarding steps

  1. 1

Consent — review data rules and accept required policies

  2. 2

Profile — name, units, experience, weekly hours, timezone

  3. 3

Connect — Strava and/or intervals.icu (you can skip)

  4. 4

Focus — race goal vs get healthier, sports, and venues

  5. 5

Race — add A/B/C races (or skip for a non-race focus)

  6. 6

Importing — history syncs and Brick analyzes your capacity

  7. 7

Assessment — review your dossier, calibrate thresholds, build the plan

Brick is explicit about what is collected and why. Required agreements cover terms and privacy. Health data is a separate, withdrawable consent — you can change it later in Settings → Account.

Profile

Units (metric/imperial), experience level, and typical weekly hours help the engine set a safe starting volume. Timezone keeps morning briefs and calendar days aligned with your life.

Connect

Linking Strava or intervals.icu during onboarding speeds up assessment. You can skip and connect later — including Polar, Wahoo, WHOOP, COROS, Suunto, Hammerhead, and FIT uploads. See Connections and sync.

Focus

Choose whether you are training for a race/event or getting healthier, which sports are primary vs cross-train, and where you usually train (indoor, outdoor, treadmill, pool, open water). This reshapes the weekly split. Details: Training focus and venues.

Race

Add races with A/B/C priority. Your A-race anchors the season. You can skip if your goal is not race-focused. More: Seasons, phases, and races.

Importing

Brick imports recent history and builds demonstrated capacity. Wait for the progress step to finish — the assessment is better when it has real data.

Assessment and first plan

You will see a coach-style assessment, then a calibration form for thresholds and schedule prefs. When you confirm, Brick builds your first macrocycle and opens the app with a welcome tour.
